Beans and bacon with nuts
Ingredients:
4 rashers lean bacon, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, crushed
400 g stringless green beans, cut into 2cm lengths
1/4 cup slivered almonds, roasted
Method:
1. Pan-fry bacon and onion for 2 to 3 minutes over medium heat until soft.
2. Add garlic and green beans and cook, stirring constantly, until cooked but still crisp.
3. Serve sprinkled with roasted slivered almonds.
Notes: Toasted almonds add plenty of flavour. Spread nuts on an oven tray and bake in a preheated oven (180°C ) for about 3 - 5 minutes.
