3 Reasons to Eat In Rather Than at a Restaurant

Have you considered that eating out at restaurants all the time may actually be having a negative effect on your life. Here are three good reasons to consider eating in rather than going to that chain restaurant:
1. You have control:
When you eat out you really have no idea what is going into the food you are eating, but if you eat at home you know everything that is going into your meal. Not only do you have control of the ingredients, you have control over the portions. This means that you can more easily lose weight if that is what you wish to do, and even if you don't need to lose weight, your overall health will be better if you know what you are eating.
2. If you have children you can teach them habits for life:
What could be better than teaching your children the benefits of preparing a good meal? If you share the meal preparation time with them you are also showing them how to cook, and not leaving it to other people, such as schools to do so. Think about what your children really need to know about food and eating; it goes beyond just having a meal. They need to know what a healthy meal tastes like, and how to prepare it, and what happens after the meal has been finished. Yes, I'm talking about washing the dishes and cleaning the kitchen. If they find out how to do these things now they will be better off when they go to college or get a job, and the burden will be taken off you to do everything. Cooking at home becomes a habit just like eating out was a habit.
3. When you do go out to a restaurant it will be a real treat.
If you go out to restaurants all the time, then eating in the restaurant becomes part of your daily life, and a routine just like any other. It takes the glamour out of going out for a meal. By cooking at home, and only treating yourself to meals out occasionally, you make them special occasions. What could be better than that?
So next time you are heading out to that restaurant for yet another over priced meal, think about all the reasons you have to eat at home, and save the restaurant meal for a special occasion. You'll enjoy it more, and you'll feel better in the long run.
